The Little People of America
The Little People of America is a non-profit organization that was created by Billy Barty in 1957. (Little People of America, 2014) The Little People of America provides many services and help to those that are affected by dwarfism. To become a member you must be under 4' 10" or be diagnosed with a form of dwarfism. (Little People of America, 2014) A large benefit of the LPA is social interaction with similar people. This can be done both online on their forums or in person at one of their 70 chapters. (Little People of America, 2014)

The Dwarf Athletic Association of America
The DAAA is another non-profit organization. It was founded in 1985.
The DAAA provides people with short statures the opportunity to participate in athletic competitions. (The Dwarf Athletic Association of America, 2013)

On top of providing opportunities for athletic imporvement, the DAAA encourages every individual to to embrace important personal values such as, courage, determination, and equality.
The DAAA are also responsible for hosting the annual DAAA National Games. A series of competitions that celebrate and challenge the athletic ability of little people. (The Dwarf Athletic Association of America, 2013) The DAAA are committed to encouraging athletes to continue their athletic training. Ultimately, the DAAA would like to guide athletes towards the Paralympic Games and witness the fulfillment of others. (The Dwarf Athletic Association of America, 2013)
